Inmarsat has launched their latest addition to the FleetBroadband family with the introduction of the FleetBroadband 150, offering simultaneous voice, SMS and IP data up to 150 kbps.

The above deck equipment is only 20 cm in diameter and weighs between 2 kg and 4 kg, which should allow potential users to install the system in just a few hours by carrying it on deck.

The new service has been established to provide a low-cost solution for leisure and smaller fishing and commercial vessels to take advantage of the IP data and high quality voice communication and SMS provided by FleetBroadband.

Radio Holland will use the Thrane & Thrane as manufacturing partner for the terminals.

The FleetBroadband 150 terminal and service will be available for provisioning at your Radio Holland branch office as of June 30th, 2009.
